What do you like about this product?
I like Zane Education because there is no set up. None! My son absolutely loved watching the cute videos and they are very informative. It's the first curriculum he truly enjoys! He receives a lot of information, just by watching a video. The subtitles across the bottom are helping him with his language skills and reading remediation. The quizzes pertained to the videos and I was able to administer them orally. My son can not read (yet) due to dyslexia and some learning delays, hence the reason the language skills and word recognition is so very important. He's extremely visual and learns well with this type of right-brained learning.

What do you dislike about this product?
I dislike the fact there are no subtitled math videos. They have utilized Khan Academy videos for the visual learner but I do hope they make subtitled math videos someday.
I would like a place where I can keep track of where we are at for each subject, on the website. Right now I write everything down so we can pick up where we left off. It would be nice if the website kept track of it for me. |
Your Review
Overall, I found Zane Education to be very worth it. I started out with the Zane Education free portion and watching the demos. We would watch a demo, peak an interest, then look elsewhere to put a study together. I wasn't sure if I would pay for it originally because we don't use curriculum in our homeschooling. We're the 'fly by the pants' homeschoolers, interest-driven. I notified the director and he kindly allowed me to try the full membership for free for a time. We're completely hooked on it now. The website has articles on how they help with dyslexia, autism, right brain thinkers, deaf, blind, and more. Zane Education also has an article on how the videos can be used as Christian learning. I haven't read that one yet. My son has many processing issues and Zane Education filled the gap. Also, it goes from K to 12 and it goes by topic, allowing us to bop and move, and still learn by being interest-driven!! After emailing the director, I found out they are making some changes to make the site more user friendly and the videos will be more interactive. There are buttons on the videos right now but they presently don't do anything. Apparently the site was built from CD's but programmers are working on making the buttons workable for web use. Will I pay for it when my free trial is up? If we have the funds at that time, definitely!
